THE INFLUENCE OF RADAR BOGOR'S ONLINE POLITICAL NEWS PRESENTATION ON PUBLIC POLITICAL KNOWLEDGE IN TANAH SAREAL DISTRICT, BOGOR CITY

The development of online media has made political news increasingly accessible to the public. Radar Bogor is one of the local media outlets that actively presents political news digitally through the “Highlight Politics” rubric. This study aims to examine the effect of online news presentation “Highlight Politics” by Radar Bogor on public political knowledge in Tanah Sareal District, Bogor City. This research employs a quantitative approach using a survey method. The population consisted of 9,194 people, with a sample of 100 respondents determined using the Slovin formula. Data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed using simple linear regression. The results indicate that the presentation of online news “Highlight Politics” has a positive and significant effect on public political knowledge. This is evidenced by the regression equation Y = 4.663 + 0.551X and an F-value of 437.299 > F-table 3.94 with a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.818 indicates that 81.8% of political knowledge is influenced by online news presentation. These findings support the Agenda Setting theory, which states that media play a crucial role in shaping public knowledge and attention.
