Peer Review Steps

ALAMIAH: Journal of Islamic Muamalah and Economics

Paper Submission

Authors submit manuscripts to ALAMIAH: Journal of Islamic Muamalah and Economics. Manuscript submissions are made through the online system (OJS) on the ALAMIAH journal website or via the journal's official email.

Editorial Team Assessment

The editorial team conducts an initial review of the manuscript to ensure its suitability to the journal's focus and scope, as well as adherence to the template and writing guidelines. At this stage, the quality of the scientific substance is not yet assessed.

Assessment by the Editor-in-Chief

The editor-in-chief assesses the manuscript's suitability for further processing, including aspects of scientific suitability, originality, and relevance to the ALAMIAH Journal. Manuscripts deemed unsuitable may be rejected without review.

Peer Review Invitation

The editor sends invitations to peer reviewers with expertise relevant to the manuscript's topic.

Response to Invitations

Potential reviewers consider the invitation based on their expertise, potential conflicts of interest, and availability, then accept or decline the invitation. If rejected, the reviewer can recommend an alternative reviewer.

Review Conducted

Reviewers conduct a thorough review of the manuscript, reading it several times to gain a comprehensive understanding. The reviewers then prepare a critical review and a recommendation, whether the manuscript is accepted, rejected, or needs revision before further consideration.

Evaluation of Review Results

The editor considers all review results before making a final decision. If there are significant differences of opinion between reviewers, the editor may appoint additional reviewers.

Communication of Decision

The editor communicates the decision to the author via email or the OJS system, along with comments and suggestions from relevant reviewers.

Next Steps

  1. If accepted, the manuscript proceeds to the production and publication stage.
  2. If revisions are necessary, the author is asked to revise the manuscript based on the reviewers' input.
  3. If revisions are substantial, the manuscript can be sent back to the reviewers.
  4. If revisions are minor, the evaluation can be carried out directly by the editor.
  5. Reviewers will also be informed of the final outcome of the manuscript revision process.
